Business Profile

The Indonesia archipelago is located along the ring of fire, which has potential geothermal energy resources at 256 locations scattered along the Sumatra, Java, Bali and Indonesia Eastern Islands. It is estimated these geothermal resources, if fully developed, have the potential to provide 27,510 MW or approximately 40% of world geothermal resource of power for the country, it is equivalent to 219 billion barrel of oil. Since the mid-1980 the Indonesian government together with other private sectors have been actively exploring for developing and operating geothermal facilities for electric power generation.

The rapid industrialization and population growth in Indonesia have led to an increase in demand for energy over 7% per annum. Moreover, Indonesia has a history of power supply shortage problems for many years. However, in line with global green energy campaigns, the Indonesian government is actively encouraging and providing greater opportunities both for national and international investors and developers to participate in the country’s geothermal field development for electricity and operations.

As a green energy resource, geothermal represents a significant economic value because of its competitive selling price of power relative to costs from other power producing resources such as coal, diesel fuel, nuclear power or even hydropower. Given today’s high cost for diesel fuel to generate electricity and global pollution initiatives for limiting use of fossil fuels, further development of Indonesia abundant geothermal reserves is being called for as it represents an economic and clean power source for now and the future.

For this reason, our Company PT. Cipta Bangun Nusantara supported by geothermal experts and professional staffs has developed integrated team with extensive experience in resource discovery and assessment, reservoir engineering, drilling, facilities engineering, construction and project management to assist the geothermal investors and developersin expediting the geothermal exploration and development projects in the most costs effective/efficient, safely and in professional manner.
