The Indonesian archipelago is located along the Ring of Fire, which boasts potential geothermal energy resources at 256 locations scattered across Sumatra, Java, Bali, and the Eastern Islands of Indonesia. These geothermal resources, if fully developed, have the potential to provide 27,510 MW, which is approximately 40% of the world’s geothermal power resources. This is equivalent to 219 billion barrels of oil. Since the mid-1980s, the Indonesian government, in collaboration with the private sector, has actively explored and developed geothermal facilities for electricity generation.
Drawing on our extensive experience in the energy business sector, PT. Cipta Bangun Nusantara (CBN) has been involved in numerous energy business units, particularly in exploration and development projects. These units encompass Geothermal, Mining, Oil and Gas (O&G), and Renewable Energy. Our energy business units are further divided into the following categories:
Over the past 18 years, CBN has been actively involved in various geothermal projects, including capital investments, operations, and maintenance. These projects include Salak, Wayang Windu, Darajat, Sorik Marapi, Sokoria, Tulehu, Rantau Dedap, Sarulla (SIL and NIL), Baturaden, Dieng, and Hamiding.
During this period, CBN has provided comprehensive services, including Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC), consultancy, and project management services. This includes everything from conceptual planning to engineering design (FEED/DED), procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.
Since 2012, CBN has been actively involved in various mining projects, which involve the design and construction of mining exploration pads and their support facilities, earthworks (cuts/fills and dirt hauling), drilling for Coal Bed Methane (CBM) exploration in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, installation of 8″ diameter HDPE wastewater pipelines spanning 8.2 km, water pond upgrades for SWCI/Ephindo in West Sangata, East Kalimantan, engineering assessments and investigations of deteriorated conveyor concrete foundations, as well as soil investigations at the Bukit Asam mining processing plant. Furthermore, we have provided construction services to support the Vale Exploration Team/Sumbawa Timur Mining in designing and building drilling site preparations for 32 well pads and other support facilities, including basecamps and infrastructures at WKP Dompu (gold mining) in Sumbawa Timur, NTB.
CBN has been actively involved in Oil and Gas projects since 2010, serving as an Engineering and Construction Management Consultant. We have supported drilling site preparation at eight (8) locations and infrastructure facilities at Lahat Field, South Sumatera. Our work has encompassed earthworks (cuts, fills, and dirt hauling), pad construction, civil infrastructure works, pipelines, and construction management.
CBN is well-versed in solar power and wind turbine projects, offering expertise in design, construction, operation, maintenance, and the respective markets. Our business units in solar energy and wind turbines focus on project development for domestic, office, commercial building, industrial, and farming applications. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of services for solar projects of all scales, including engineering, procurement, project development, construction, and maintenance. The CBN Renewable Business Unit (Solar Power and Wind Turbine) was founded in Jakarta and specializes in engineering, procurement, construction, and installation services for both ground-mount and rooftop installations.
