SEGS AWI Completion Project
The SEGS AWI 18 project is expected to be completed around the end of April 2023. The last couple of months has been intense work for the AWI team. In December 2022, we completed all necessary civil works. In this regard, AWI 18 project would be completed based on the terms of reference (TOR) signed between The Star Energy Geothermal Salak (SEGS) and Cipta Bangun Nusantara (CBN).
This Project started in August 2022 and is expected to finish in early 2023. The Project is about modifying the existing AWI-18 brine line system to increase the brine flow rate from 1800 kph to 2100-2400 kph to optimize BHR plant operation and lower the brine line pressure for minimizing long-term operational risk to maximize value for the Company.
CBN scopes will include the followings:
- Replace two (2) units of the existing WPS pump with two (2) new brine pumps.
- Relocate two (2) ex-WPS pump assemblies to the AWI-18 pad to function as a booster pump.
- Relocate 1-unit existing AWI-18 brine pump to AWI-18 pad to function as a stand-by brine booster pump.
- Modify the brine piping system at the WPS and AWI-18 to accommodate the new brine line.
- Install a power system to supply electrical power at AWI-18
- Modify the existing WPS control system.
- Install PLC at AWI-18 pad.
- Install UPS System at AWI-18 pad.
“As AWI 18 is still under construction, we can only give an approximate figure in terms of cost and timing at this point,” he said when he presented at the last CBN Management Meeting. He stated that there were some challenges, such as bad weather, which affected the schedule, but our team was doing everything possible to ensure that AWI 18 team should complete the Project.
We are pleased to reveal that we have almost completed the AWI 18 project, and the next Project is now underway. Our team is now busy finishing smaller sections that make up the Project. At this stage, there are still many challenges ahead, but we are confident that we will be able to complete this project on time and with high benchmark quality.
